What a great book this is for dramatizing fundamentals of the free market. Written as a parody on Gulliver’s Travels, Jonathan is caught in a storm and is shipwrecked on a strange island where the political and social life is really bizarre. Why? Because it is exactly like the real world in which we live – only more so. All of the follies of our collectivist society are pursued by the inhabitants of this island, but they are enacted in such a straightforward manner that it is easy to see their absurdities. Each short chapter contains a dramatic lesson that will not be easy to forget. This is wonderful reading for students of all ages. 118 pages.
