Last year I wrote to you, expressing my admiration and gratitude for your
book on Vitamin B-17. Ever since I receive Unfiltered News, of which
the negative tenor sometimes surprises me, especially as to the health care
reform. The Health Care Lies, mentioned in this Weekly are, I suspect,
instilled into the public by the vested interests in the status quo, and
unfortunately many are susceptible to getting upset without any control. But
anyone who takes the trouble to read in extenso President Obama's speech for
the Annual Conference of the AMA in June 09 must know better. Especially two
items I 'd have expected to be welcomed by you, the first being: "taming"
the Health Insurance Companies by creating real competition (in price,
coverage and quality) by a government-run body, and the second: striving for
more choice - even comprising complementary and alternative treatments.
Fear for government-agencies I can imagine, especially in your country, but
so far Medicare seems to have won a much better reputation than the
Insurance Companies. The complementary and alternative treatments are not
yet heralded so far, understandably, but contacts between AAHF and the
Administration seem promising.
In my opinion, massive support for this Health Care Reform, coupled with the
demand for real health freedom would create the best chance for health
freedom ever, whereas failure would close the door forever. With best

Hello Mr. van der Waals.
There is no doubt that insurance companies stand to lose sizable cash flow
from a government-run health-care program, but there is much more to
consider than that. The real issue is that concentration of power and money
into the hands of any industry will tend to corrupt those who hold that
power. This certainly is true of the insurance industry. However, there is
far greater concentration of power and money into government and, I think
you will agree that this inevitable generates the ultimate corruption. It is
hard to think of any government agency that has not, from time to time, been
exposed as being riddled with corruption and waste.
I am glad you are familiar with the story of Vitamin B-17 in the control of
cancer, because that points up the central fact of which I speak. It is not
the insurance industry that attacked natural cancer remedies but
governments. Governments always fall prey to corporate predators that fund
politicians to write laws to give them advantage over their competitors in
the market place, and health care certainly is no exception. Therefore, My
objection to government-run health care has nothing to do with the insurance
industry. It is based on my conviction that, under socialized medicine, the
quality of health care will go down, the cost will go up (paid for by taxes
and inflation) and competition among practitioners will completely
disappear. So will freedom-of-choice for patients. In other words, I believe
that the rosy picture painted by the President is primarily propaganda to
sell his program and is the opposite of what will actually materialize.

STAGED OBAMA TOWN HALL MEETING IN MONTANA

By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to Montana last
Friday. However, there are many things that the major news has not covered.
I feel that since Joe and I live here and we were at the airport on Friday I
should share some facts with you. Whatever you decide to do with the
information is up to you. If you chose to share this email with others I do
ask that you DELETE my email address before you forward this on.
On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the President would
be coming here. There are many groups here that are against his healthcare
and huge spending so those groups began talking and deciding on what they
were going to do. The White House would not release ANY details other than
the date.
On about Tuesday Joe found out that they would be holding the "Town Hall" at
the airport. (This is only because Joe knows EVERYONE at the airport) Our
airport is actually located outside of Belgrade (tiny town) in a very remote
location. Nothing is around there. They chose to use a hangar that is the
most remotely located hangar. You could not pick a more remote location, and
you can not get to it easily. It is totally secluded from the public.
FYI: We have many areas in Belgrade and Bozeman which could have held a
large amount of folks with sufficient parking. (gymnasiums/auditoriums). All
of which have chairs and tables, and would not have to be SHIPPED IN!! $$$$
During the week, cargo by the TONS was being shipped in constantly. Airport
employees could not believe how it just kept coming. Though it was our
President coming several expressed how excessive it was, especially during a
recession. $$$$$
Late Tuesday/early Wednesday the 12th, they said that tickets would be
handed out on Thursday 9am at two locations and the president would be
arriving around 12:30 Friday.
Thursday morning about 600 tickets were passed out. However, 1500 were
printed at a Local printing shop per White House request. Hmmmm......900
tickets just DISAPPEARED.
This same morning someone called into the radio from the local UPS branch
and said that THOUSANDS of Dollars of Lobster were shipped in for Obama.
Montana has some of the best beef in the nation!!! And it would have been
really wonderful to help out the local economy. Anyone heard of the
Recession?? Just think...with all of the traveling the White House is doing.
$$$$$ One can only imagine what else we are paying for.
On Friday Joe and I got out to the airport about 10:45am. The groups that
wanted to protest Obama's spending and healthcare had gotten a permit to
protest and that area was roped off. But that was not to be. A large bus
carrying SEIU (Service Employees International Union) members drove up onto
the area (illegal) and unloaded right there. It was quite a commotion and
there were specifically 2 SEIU men trying to make trouble and start a fight.
Police did get involved and arrested the one man but they said they did not
have the manpower to remove the SEIU crowd.
The SEIU crowd was very organized and young. About 99% were under the age of
30 and they were not locals! They had bullhorns and PROFESSIONALLY made
signs. Some even wore preprinted T-shirts. Oh, and Planned Parenthood folks
were with them.....professing abortion rights with their T-shirts and
preprinted signs. (BTW, all these folks did have a permit to protest in
ANOTHER area)
Those against healthcare/spending moved away from the SEIU crowd to avoid
confrontation. They were orderly and respectful. Even though SEIU kept
coming over and walking through, continuing to be very intimidating and
aggressive at the direction of the one SEIU man.
So we had Montana folks from ALL OVER the state with their homemade signs
and their DOGS with homemade signs. We had cowboys, nurses, doctors you name
it. There was even a guy from Texas who had been driving through. He found
out about the occasion, went to the store, made a sign, and came to protest.
If you are wondering about the press.....Well, all of the major networks
were over by that remote hangar I mentioned. They were conveniently parked
on the other side of the buildings FAR away. None of these crowds were even
visible to them. I have my doubts that they knew anything about the crowds.
We did have some local news media around us from this state and Idaho.
Speaking of the local media...they were invited. However, all questions were
to be turned into the White House in advance of the event. Wouldn't want
anyone to have to think off the top of their head.
It was very obvious that it was meant to be totally controlled by the White
House. Everything was orchestrated down to the last detail to make it appear
that Montana is just crazy for Obama and government healthcare. Even those
people that talked about their insurance woes........the White House called
our local HRDC (Human Resource and Development Committee) and asked for
names. Then the White House asked those folks to come. Smoke and
mirrors...EVERYTHING was staged!!!!!!!!!!!
I am very dismayed about what I learned about our current White House. The
amount of control and manipulation was unbelievable. I felt I was not living
in the United States of America, more like the USSR!! I was physically
nauseous. Joe and I have been around when Presidents or Heads of State
visit. It has NEVER been like this. I am truly very frightened for our
country. America needs your prayers and your voices. If you care about our
country please get involved. Know the issues. And let Congress hear your
voices again and again!! If they are willing to put forth so much effort to
BULLY a small town one can only imagine what is going on in Washington DC.

WHY IS THE MEDIA CREATING CARLEY FIORINA?
In California, the mainstream media is preparing us for the next election. I
don't know that Barbara Boxer has anything to worry about, but just in case,
the back-up candidate is being presented. I don't know how many articles
I've already seen regarding Carly Fiorina, but there have been many. I know
almost nothing about her. I feel that I don't NEED to know anything about
her, because of all the free campaign coverage she's getting from the press.
By the time the primaries come around, most other candidates will be virtual

HOPE THAT THERE IS SOME HUMANITY AMONG THE HEALTH CARE CORRUPTION
Greetings Mr. Griffin,
Thank you so much for responding. I couldn’t agree more regards fascistic
corp./gov’t collusion. In fact, the horse has been out of the barn on that
for a long time. And yes, the Republican/Democrat posturing is just Laputans
and Blefuscues arguing over how to cook an egg. Perhaps naively, I believe
that there is an element of humanity in the reform, (if there is anything we
can “believe” about it), in that it would reign in the usurper insurance
companies and provide medical services to those who otherwise have none.
Granted, these people are probably the least healthy, and the most likely to
abuse the system, but I refuse to let prejudice determine my final thought.
Having been a “victim” of insurance company “abuse”, I can only hope easing
the burden of the uninsured is the operative here.
The insurers are the middlemen, and a great tax on the entire process. And
while it goes against the fascist model stated above, both the AMA and
pharma would probably like to see them taken down a peg, therefore, more
profits are not their sole motivation. And these are two titans battling on
global stage in what is in actuality the remaining vestiges of a free
market. I don’ think the AMA or pharma are scheming to kill grandma either,
and one should be able to realistically and rationally be informed of the
options.
Now, whether or not you want to view the reform as the beginning of the end,
or the lynchpin to the “Final Solution”, which seems to be the impetus for
all the hysteria, I can’t say, but I believe that to be the source of all
the brouhaha. How much further down the slippery slope we’ll slide? Surely,
we will pick up momentum. Strange though, how most of the rest of the world
has been able to institute many of these proposals and no Pol Pot has
emerged. No Joseph Stalin. Amazing how people in most of the rest of the
world can drop in to get a few stitches, or some diagnosis without being
herded into a concertina wired enclosure. Or, allowed to run up some
fantastic emergency room bill which the taxpayer will be on the hook for
anyway.
I work with and for a lot of selfish, fearful, greedy people, for whom the
thought of easing the burden of another human being is anathema to all they
strive for. Some of these people are extremely well off, but when it comes
time to break out the medicare, they are the first in line. They too are
against this measure. If for that reason alone, I have to support it. It is
primarily the anti-humanist fundamentalists convulsing over the loss of
their false hooded pap, along with their incurable paranoia, whipped into a
frenzy by the masters of manipulation, Beck and Limbaugh, that has got
everybody’s panties in a knot. I prefer rule by reason, over rule by

HEALTHCARE BILL WILL CREATE A BUREAUCRATIC MONSTROSITY
I have browsed and read extensively the HR-3200 'Healthcare Bill'. Several
major issues strike and astound me immediately. They are: (1) that this bill
creates a monumental, unmanageable, monstrous administrative nightmare with
its multiple organizational staffs and requirements, (2) the "Commissioner"
throughout the bill is charged with issuing requirements, standards and
practices for the staffs at his own discretion without limits, (3) seemingly
unending and unlimited number of task units, and (4) no way can this bill be
paid for in less than umpteen trillions of dollars and thousands or millions
of additional federal employees.
I read the 'pdf' version of the bill. 'PDF' files have the feature of
'find'. To get a quick sense of the complication of 'HR-3200', search and
read the surrounding text for the following words: Commissioner, exchange,
administration, governance, division, appoint, establish, quality health
benefits, ombudsman, community, departments, staff, units, secretary,
office, training, title, subtitle, etc. These will support my contention
that the bill is a nightmare.
The criteria for the bill states that it builds on the current healthcare
system, but the bill replaces, not builds on, the current system. Can you
visualize what the bill would foster when a person such as one of the
current cast of czars becomes the "Commissioner"? Ghastly!

LET'S GET GRIFFIN ON THE HUCKABEE SHOW - NOT!
While the author has some good points, reminiscent of George Washington's
thoughts that religion and morality were the two pillars of government, he
is off base on Mike Huckabee.
In December, 2007, Judicial Watch published its list of the Ten Most Corrupt
Politicians and Mike Huckabee made the list (www.judicialwatch.org/judicial-watch-announces-list-washington-s-ten-most-corrupt-politicians-2007).
Huckabee had 14 charges of ethics violations filed against him. Huckabee had
the hard drives of 83 computers destroyed, as well as the hard drives of 3
main servers destroyed (what did he want hidden from the public?). Someone
had donated $90,000 worth of furniture to the Arkansas Governor's mansion
and Huckabee claimed it was his. In addition, Huck and his wife went to
Target at Christmas one year and registered as husband and wife; then told
their employees that they could go to the site and choose gifts for them
there. (Is this low-class or what?)
On December 27, 2007, Alan Stang, author extraordinaire, wrote a column in
News With Views about Mike Huckabee entitled "Huck the Schmuck" (www.newswithviews.com/Stang/alan22.htm).
Here Alan unveils the fact that Huck's staff said he lied about his
"theology degree." Alan reveals that at a dinner meeting in 2004 of the
Republican Governors Association, Huck mounted the stage to give the opening
prayer and used the occasion instead, to make God the straight man in a Bob
Newhart-type comedy routine. Huck, supposedly a man of the cloth, belongs to
a musical group called "Capitol Offense." This group plays songs such as
"Honky Tonk Woman," "Good Golly Miss Molly," and "Devil With The Blue Dress
On." All these songs, and others, extoll drugs, alcohol, and illicit sex. If
Huck were truly a "preacher," he would be trying to save these women instead
of lauding their sins. Remember, too, that these songs have to be rehearsed
over and over to get them right.
Huck must also be remembered for the fact that he wanted bigger taxes and to
bring more illegal immigrants into Arkansas. When Arizona's Proposition 200
passed, Huckabee criticized it saying that it was "race baiting" and "demogaguery."
One of the authors of Prop. 200, Senate Republican Jim Hold, is a Christian.
Huckabee said that he (Huckabee) "drank a different kind of Jesus juice."
Before someone naively decides that "we have to trust someone" in the media,
he/she should do a little more homework before picking on a man such as
Huckabee. Huck was put on Faux News by the establishment elites to give him
exposure. If Huck were nominated to be the Republican candidate in 2012 and
wins, he could be manipulated easily by the elites. As Mr. Griffin has oft
quoted from Prof. Carrol Quigley's book, "Tragedy and Hope," the election of
Huckabee would be to "throw the rascals out," only to have more of the same,
e.g., bigger government, higher taxes, less personal freedom, etc.
To have someone of the calibre of G. Edward Griffin on Huckabee's show would
give credence to a man who doesn't deserve it and would be a great discredit
to Mr. Griffin. As for me, I wouldn't give one red cent to such a [foolish]
scheme.

READER SEES SOCIALIZED MEDICINE AS REFORM
I truly enjoy your “anti-establishment”, pro-libertarian newsletter. I also
enjoy looking under the covers to find the endless corporate/militarist/pharma
conspiracies that keep us locked in imperial wars, Enronesque
scandals/bailouts and now possible forced inoculations. And that is why I
find it perplexing, when proposals to cure one of the greatest usurpers of
our personal well being, the medico/insurance/pharma cabal, is attacked as
collectivist conspiracy. One contributor even suggests that the Health
reform bill was lengthy and ponderous (and therefore “bad”) because it was
written by lawyers. Imagine if it weren’t! Another article describes a
Rovian tactic of impersonating a doctor. Seems the shoe is on the other foot
now and the Republicans don’t like the fit.
I realize that the suggestion of circumscribing insurance and drug company
profits for the benefit of the unwashed goes against the high-minded
libertarian credo, but is there not a limit? Corporation socialism good/
public socialism bad? Is there something wrong with guaranteeing that your
coverage will not be cancelled, or not denied? Is there something bad about
keeping what you have and opting out? What makes these attempts at reform
collectivist anyway? Because of more taxes? Because big medico might have a
little competition? Fedex and UPS seem to be doing okay up against that
powerhouse the Post Office; and taxes? It was during the cold war that taxes
were at 70%! Talk about a double standard.
And this end of life issue – suddenly we have Death Panels! Oh for crying
out loud! How can any thinking human fall for such inflammatory bombast and
just plain lies? Where is the rationality? Ah, but they’ve taken out the
“end of life provisions” in a “Hegelian” strategy! Lets, see, there is
Hegelian dialectic, (which I bet 1 American in 10,000 couldn’t define (but
are in dire need to)), Hegelian idealism, which even I struggle with, but
Hegelian Strategy? Golly gee, sure sounds diabolic though. Whenever I see
one side baiting an issue with pretentious slander, exaggeration and
innuendo, in keeping with the Socratic admonition that people more easily
believe lies than truth, I have to throw my hat into the ring of the
reformers, and not the ring of those seeking to avoid reform.

Your objections are based on the assumption that socialized medicine would,
somehow, be a blow against corporate control of medicine. The reality is
that the corporations will RUN socialized medicine and receive most of the
money that will flow from it. Just look at who is putting up the many
millions of dollars to fund the new wave of pro-socialized-medicine TV ads.
It is the pharmaceutical companies, the doctors’ union (called the AMA), the
hospitals, and other corporate beneficiaries of the anticipated tax flow.
This is NOT a Republican vs. Democrat thing. It’s a “corporate socialism”
thing, which is the merger of corporations and government. The word for that
is fascism. If you think that is the side of reform, I fear you are in for a
great surprise.

Have your class agree to socialistic grading. Everyone gets the same grade
and it will be based on the average test score of each exam. See how many
tests it takes for everyone to have a D or F because the lazy students will
not have to study since they will get the same grade as the smart, hard
working students who will pull up the average. The hard working students
will realize after the first test that it is not worth the bother to study
since the lazy parasitic students will get the same grade as they without
even trying. No one will learn anything and everyone will fail, just like in

COLLECTIVISM TAUGHT IN AUSTRALIA
Dear Mr. Griffin,
This year, I enrolled for the Master of US Studies at the United States
Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, pretty much to quench my
curiosity as to what goes on at the centre, what's being taught in the
course, and what direction the students lean. No surprises that most of
these young Australians in the course lean towards collectivism, advocacy of
massive tax hikes for middle to high income earners, groupthink solutions
that give more deciding power to the state regarding terrorism and climate
change, and even moulding the world towards totalitarianism if President
Obama's heart desires it (the hero-worship towards him in this class has
been creepy at best). One girl even said Australia should donate 5% of its
GDP to foreign aid, and thought it would be a good thing if we were all
taxed 100% of our income for the sake of funding all state-run programs to
maximize peoples' reliance on government - my jaw dropped. I'm described as
the token libertarian of the class simply because of my advocacy for limited
government, freedom of speech and of the individual, as well as being
vigilant and distrustful towards people in power, although my views are
constantly looked down upon as "funny", theirs is just outright frightening.
I was even accused of being a "Jew hater" because I brought up international
bankers as a root cause of attacks on individual freedom.
This group claims to be very "pro-American", but I can't help but think
they're just pro-Democrat simply because it's the non-Bush party, and is
supposedly the party with a "superior moral claim" to race relations in
America, so they feel that it is their prudent duty to take on socialist
beliefs in economics to help out the needy minorities from low
socio-economic backgrounds - I personally think my group in this class has
been rick-rolled. I'm quite amazed they appointed me as Treasurer of the
United States Studies Society, since my ideological perspective is so
different from theirs as a whole.
Anyway, in one of our units this semester, we have US Economic Policy and
Regulation. I told our lecturer that I'd "read Greider's Secrets of the
Temple and Griffin's The Creature from Jekyll Island" (he was a bit shocked
when I told him that I'd read Greider's book cover-to-cover). I'm always
amused by this class how they constantly harp on how the US monetary system
must be placed in the hands of "wiser men" (amazing, and I'm the only one
who's read Greider!) if the Federal Reserve or the government isn't working
properly, and in their language, that usually means it has to be taken away
from those "evil right-wing conservatives" and into the hands of those "good
natured left-wing liberals". This controlled opposition mentality is no more
evident that what's displayed with our required reading, which is The
Conscience of a Liberal: Reclaiming America From the Right by Paul Krugman,
who is so extremely partisan in this book, that his purple-faced,
foaming-at-the-mouth view of America is coloured by his false perception
that the nation is actually "center-left" and the big, bad right-wing elites
have been stopping America's "progression" into liberal utopian prosperity.
It's like he's flirting with the right ideas, but he constantly uses
incorrect labels that make his arguments confusing and piddly. I admit that
I haven't finished reading the book yet, but so far, Krugman doesn't point
out any useful solutions to America's financial problems, instead he's too
busy painting a hyperbolic stereotype of the American Right, that there
should be a "new New Deal" and that competition is one of the greatest sins
of all simply because there are losers in such a system, and there needs to
be an altruistic government to help them without question. He's probably the
first writer and economist I've ever heard speak of the "welfare state" as
something good - and this is the core text for the ecomomics class!
Another piece of hilarity lies in Krugman's introduction where he accuses
Obama of attacking other Democrats in the primaries from both left and right
perspectives, in my view, this was actually a good thing because it seemed
at the time that Obama was objective and could see the good and the bad in
these pointless debates and move on from the "left-right" paradigms, but
Krugman spoke like he was indicting Obama for some sort of ideological
betrayal, but he couldn't have been giddier when it's revealed Obama was
just playing politics in the old reliable Machiavellian methodology.
No-one in my class has yet questioned the text, probably because it preaches
to the choir, and they fit the bill perfectly, like good little foot
soldiers. Some were even giddy enough to dance around after class like they
were given a caffine rush because the lecturer just "had to be a liberal for
prescribing that book! YAY!"
I'm very tempted to reference your book in some of the essays due this
semester, because there are some topics that have cropped up during class
that I think I can refute in the essays.
